I don't have any height or really serious space restrictions where I am.
This particular antenna was a really good deal from a friend, so i grabbed
it with a tripod.
It's a goofy design, but acording to EHam, it seems to work rather well on
20M and up.
I've got my windom for 40 and 80M so that doesn't really bother me.
As for the 05 stuff, sounds pricy considering the S9 antennas, which from
what I can see, are similar, are going for fire sale prices over on
cheapham.com...of course, they all require a pretty significant tuner, more
than what the radio has in it, which always turns me off.
This diamond can supposedly be tuned to less than 1.8 to 1 on all it's
bands...we'll find out when I get it up.
Going to assemble and put it on the tripod in the back yard today or
tomorrow and tune it up
Nice part is you tune it by adjusting the length of the ground radials on
the antenna...so I don't have to lay the antenna over everytime I need to
make an adjustment.
I doubt the performance will be as good as my windom on any band, but I
figured I'd give it a try for fun.
