Hi Danny, counting the base section the antenna has 5 sections. I found one
for parts on EBay for $20. I had one that a friend gave me it was beat up.
Took another one and made almost a brand-new radio. I have a PDF manual if
you are interested. It can be found online as well. Just let me know.

Subject: Looking4 Info On,&RodAntenna4a Grundig YB400-Or400PE Receiver
Hi all, I recently swapped for a Grundig yb400 portable communications =
receiver! I'd forgotten how good those little units really are!
It's been several years since I'd operated one, and most of the commands =
came back to me. But I can't remember how, in the initial set up mode, =
you set the 9-or-10KHZ step for the MW band. Apparently the default is =
9khz, as when I use the up-down tuning, it tunes in 9khz steps.
Yes, the step button, below the up-down buttons will modify that default =
for individual tuning operations; and the direct freq entry keypad =
operation is always successful: But when using the up-down buttons, =
unless the incrament is preset to the 10khz option, the 9khz step always =
defaults.
I don't have access to a manual, even in my packrat Gmail folder! I've =
recently learned that Ccrane sold the yb400 series, and made a cassette =
available for blind users, outlining its' operation.
Questions, 1, do any of you have one of the Grundig yb400 or 400PE =
units?
2, do you remember the preset instructions for the 9-10KHZ step?
3, might any of you have the cassette from CCrane that I could listen =
to?
4, since the rod antenna on this one has only three sections, do you =
know how many sections the antenna is supposed to have, and
5, might any of you have a "parts radio" from which I might obtain one?
Thanks in advance, Danny Dyer, Wb4idu.
