Uh, because they do not and will not provide DSL out here where I
live?... Sorry, Hal, I don't mean to sound sarcastic, but I have been
calling them, harassing the clerks for _years_ and the answer is always
"no." Sometimes it's -- shall we say -- a rather more emphatic No...
Seems I am more than three miles from their central station, or
whatever. If I get a more positive answer, it's that "... but we're
working on it..." <pthhhh!>
Fair? Of course not! Acceptable? Again, of course not! I guess my
only option is to keep my land line and go with a satellite service for
high-speed, except that I simply can't afford both... :::sigh:::
