Q: if I have two databases within the
Logdata.mdb

How can I load it into the same database?

EG: february2014.mdb and march2014.mdb

Hi All,

With all the Amateur Contact Log users volunteering to put W1AW on the air
during ARRL's Centennial celebration this year, I'm constantly receiving
these questions, so I thought I would provide the answers here:

How do I start a new log for the contacts I log as W1AW?

- From AC Log 4.6's menu options click File > New > Start a New Log with a
New Database File.

- Don't use the same name as your current log file. Enter a new, valid
file name such as W1AW.mdb. Do not attempt to include a / or other invalid
file name characters.

You should now be all set with your new log file to use for your W1AW
contacts. After you have finished operating as W1AW, to open your regular
log file, click File > Open, navigate to your file and select it. The
default file name is LogData.mdb.

I will be making lots of contacts. How do I configure AC Log to minimize
keystrokes and log lots of stations quickly?

From AC Log 4.6's menu options click Settings > Fill Fields When Tabbing
from Call, so that there is a check mark beside it. As long as your band
and mode remain the same, all you have to do is type the station's call,
press space bar to tab to the next field and then press the enter key. All
the pertinent fields will fill from values of the previous contact when you
tab, so if the values haven't changed, all you have to do is press enter.
In short, the sequence is type the call, press space bar, press enter.

When operating CW, can I set up an automatic string associated with an F key

that references what I type in the Call field?

Yes, just use the $ character anywhere in the string such as "$ 599". If
you have KA3SEQ typed in the Call field, when you press the associated F
key, KA3SEQ 599 will be sent.

How do I create an ADIF file of the log for submittal to ARRL?

From AC Log 4.6's menu options click File > Export ADIF > Whole Log and then

follow the prompts.

That's all there is to it.

Enjoy your time operating as W1AW!
