I'm using Office 2010, but I'm posting this because I think this feature
was available in Office 2007.
When I'm lecturing, I hook my computer up to the classroom smart panel
and open a blank Word document so students can see whatever I type. I
used to use alt+space followed by X to maximize the window, but my
students said they could still see other parts of the screen. One day
while I was in class, I went into the View menu and pressed space on
Full Screen (alt followed by W followed by F). They told me that made
everything else go away. I think I only had to do that once, and the
computer remembered, but I also have a vague memory of having to do it
again at some point, maybe after an update.
