I don't use this one, but are you sure it needs batteries? The 590
provides DC voltage on one of the pins of the mic jack and will power
Kenwood desk mics. I would be surprised if you really need
batteries, but who knows.
If it is like a previous Kenwood desk mic with preamp I used in the
past, there might be a pre-amp switch and LED. If you connect
without batteries, turn on the pre-amp switch, and the LED lights, you
are good to go.
