A volt/ohm multi-meter can save you a lot of time tracking down bad
connectors and coax, especially if you are fortunate enough to have one of
the talking meters. When we were trying to figure out why my antennas were
not working after my local ham club guys assisted me in getting them up for
me, it took my Son and me only about 30 minutes or less to track down the
shorted connectors and replace them. In like manner, we used my volt/ohm
meter to discover that my loop had a break in it somewhere too. Another
piece of equipment that sure comes in handy is a antenna analyzer. A good
antenna analyzer is pretty expensive for anymore than you use it, but when
you need one, they are absolutely priceless!
