Your best option for a remote is the remote rig set, http://www.remoterig.com by microbit.
There sold by HRO in the states for about 499USD. If you go with the Elecraft side, you can get a complete station from them which includes these remote rig boxes.
I ran an FT-450 remote a couple of years ago using HRD connecting to one of the boxes in my apartment and the other was connected to the 450 out in the shack 45 miles away.
If you go with the TS-480 option, you can leave the main unit where your antenna is and you can connect the removable panel to the other box and you get a complete radio feel and control. You can do CW, AM and even digital with this setup. The remote rig set comes in pairs, 1 for the remote location and the other in your apartment or where your operating remote from. You can even get a wireless adapter to plug into the boxes.
