I have no problem working stations from other places but home is home.  I lived in Venezuela for about 6 months in around 1982 and it totally sucked.
It would probably be better to live over seas now.  Back then I had no ham radio.  No cell phone, no computer for email.  The culture shock was unbelieveable.
Also, as far as the fries with curds,  I prefer plain or with catsup.
