Hello Mike.  It was a pleasant surprise to me when I found that 
Braille Note Developers recognized Ham Radio.
I have used the Ham Log and found it a good, basic and simple log book.
   As you say, with some alterations to the fields,  it could be even 
more useful. and in its present format it is too simple for 
contesting and other tasks including some referencing.

It will be a great tool for you when you go portable.
It has my vote of confidence.
