Hello, everyone:

My University office computer is slated to be replaced this Fall, and, as a
result of some conversations I have had with someone pretty high up in the
University's I T department, it looks like I may be able to get access to a
loaner MAC computer over the Summer to play with, in order to see if a MAC
might be a workable computer replacement for me when the time comes.

Even though I'd like to make the switch if doing so is practical, I'm a bit
hesitant to take this step because of several concerns. First, I am not
sure how much time I'll have to really learn how to use a Mac between now
and the Fall semester. And, second, I'm a bit worried about compatibility
issues, since our University is still mainly a Windows-based university.

Nevertheless, I'm certainly going to take them up on the offer, to at least
get a feel for the territory, and to see whether switching to a Mac might be
doable for me.

My question is this:

Does anyone know of any links to general Mac tutorials or podcasts that I
might start to listen to in order to get at least some idea of how to use
the Mac, in terms of its most basic features? Are there tutorials or
podcasts that are particularly helpful for the beginning MAC user?

Are there other considerations I should be thinking about here?
