Steve, Am not sure how many people you can conference with skype,
or if someone was conferencing with say 10 people then a second
person could conference with more folks and add the first
conference. Have never messed with that stuff but it would be
fun to try. I do like both aspects, the on air as well as skype
or echolink. I know that Handiham has an echolink site. Maybe a
bunch of us should designate a time and date and all log into
that site and see what happens. 73, Jim WA6EKS

Jim,

I know Skype isn't the same thing as using the radio, but it
certainly would
allow many of us to talk to each other and, unlike HF or
Echolink, we could
actually talk in full duplex mode. Ok, all you "purists" can now
start
flaming if you want to, but I ask you, what's more important, the
method we
use, or the fact that we might actually be communicating (what a
concept).

Steve

most of you folks seem to be in the midwest and east so that
leaves us
 guys
out west kind of out of the loop so to speak. We have a number
of people,
myself included, who have a kind of group that hangs out on
7.189 right
below the forty meter roundtable net that I can never hear out
in CA.
 land.
Having said all that, it does sound like a good idea. Also,
maybe we
 could
get on skype or echolink much as some people don't like
Echolink. As for
me, I like it all! 73, Jim WA6EKS

 Hi all:

I got an idea, not sure it will fly but how about we take this
list to the
 ham bands?
I know there's already 2 formal nets but how about meeting on
say 75M or
 40M
on an occasional Saturday night for a group chat? Kind of like
the G0EVY
group and others do. A bunch get together on a frequency, talk
about
everything under the sun and work the occasional DX stations
that wanna
 talk
 to North America. LOL
Nothing formal, one of us could put it on the list where and
when either
 of
us is going to be and let it run from there. LOL
 Think it might be fun.
