I, too, didn't notice problems with CW sending on auto-weighting until I got
beyond 25 WPM, but once I exceeded that threshold, the CW sending seemed to
become more problematic.

The weight ratio by default is set to auto.
I moved it to 3.1, which worked with my ear and hand. You can send as you
adjust, the setting is in the low 30's in the menu list, I can't remember
exactly which one.
I didn't notice the problem until I got above 25 WPM.
The other really cool settings for CW allow you to switch from ssb to cw by
taping the key, and the one that sets the frequency so that the pitch of the
signal doesn't shift when you switch to cw.
I can go through my settings if you want.
Those three adjustments along with the 270 HZ filter turn the 480 in to a
dream CW radio.
