I've installed three of them. The first two boarrds came with different
thickness of foam pad that are a double sided sticky thing and you put
one under and one on top of the board as I recall. It is easy to plug
in. Just remove the cover with the speaker holes in it. It is easy to
see the connector, near the front of the radio as I recall. The last
one I bought came with some wierd little plastic clip that I really
didn't know what to do with, no foam pads, and had no one to read
instructions. I just took electrical tape and roled it up sticky side
out and made little pads, the one under the board doesn't have to be all
that thick, the top one has to be so when the cover is put back, it
holds the board in place. Hope that makes sense. I don't recall if the
speaker has to be removed or not, but I don't think so. If it does, it
is held in place by the cover, so it is easy to move if necessary. Hope
that all makes sense. I didn't find it at all hard to do, but I'm use
to working with such things as I studdied electronics in 1966, so been
doing this a long time. By the way, if you want to open up the radio
for mars or whatever, the jumpers are under the synthesizer board, so do
that mod before installing.
