John, I'm not a drummer but have messed with a trap set enough to
know and appreciate the difficulties you guys face. My only
advice for sending CW on drums would be to practice your press
roll and rim shots. That might make an interesting sounding CQ,
smile! 73, Jim WA6EKS

Subject: Re: Musicians on this list?
Hi Jim,
I am a drummer and vocalist and have played in local and road
bands in
and around the Western New York area and Eastern Seaboard of the
US and
Canada since the 1970's. Now I'm only part time and I have done
other
things in recent years as well.
Being a drummer, it has been difficult for me to try sending CW
on
stage. <guffaw>!

Hi John, I take it you're also a musician. I bet there are a
number of folks on this list who are also musicians. I count
myself among them as I play trumpet in several local jazz
groups.
It would be fun to find out how many on this list are musicians,
their instruments, and styles of music they perform. Oh well, I
guess that ranges a little far afield of where this list is
supposed to be focused. But, if necessary, I can, and have been
known to send code on the horn, smile! In my on the air
experience and listening around, I don't hear too many hams
discussing music or playing gigs, but it does happen. 73, Jim

Hi all, Rod is also an excellent musician! He plays guitar and
mandolin
and maybe other instruments. I have an interesting recording of
Rod and
I jamming at an ARROW Christmas party back in the mid '80's!
ARROW is
the Amateur Radio Repeater of Washtinaw!
