Hello group:
Like many of you, I completed the rebate paperwork, and sent it to Kenwood before XMAS. The only thing received from them so far has been that “form” letter.
As it’s well past the specified 60 day timeframe, I thought that I’d give Kenwoodusa(Georgia) a call(at least to let them know that I’m still alive!). I spoke with Phil Parton, who’s in charge of the promotion, and was told that the reason for the backlog was the promotion’s “unexpected”success.
After verifying that he wasn’t related to Dolly, he also said that the boards were being shipped in “batches”(presumably from Asia), and that as soon as they “cleared” customs at their landing point in the United States that they were being shipped to rebate customers. I don’t know anything about sound boards being sent to retail dealers, and I may be “naive”, but I don’t feel that this situation is some sort of conspiracy on Kenwood’s part(just an example of Murphy’s law).
Bottom line is that even though Kenwood hasn’t”technically” lived up to the terms of the rebate, I don’t feel that I’ve suffered any damages beyond time, and frustration.
Someone could take this matter before “Judge Judy” if they choose, but Mr. Parton seemed genuinely sincere,so I’ll live with the frustration, and just wait a while longer. Just my 2 cents on this matter.

David S. Pearson-wa4dsp
