Tom,
I loaded it at lunch and turned on the voice DX announcements. It works
great! It uses the Microsoft text to speech which isn't as good as Jaws
speech in my opinion. Still, having it announce the callsign and band of the
needed DX spot rather than just saying "needed spot" seems really nice.

I didn't have time to try the new feature of hitting "enter" on a log entry
to edit it. I only used it for a few minutes then lunch time was over but so
far, I'm very impressed.

73, Jim, KY2D

Hi, all.

I thought I'd send this along to anyone who might be interested.

If anyone tries the new upgrade, please let us know how it works.

Right now, I believe I have version 4.3 of A C log, and am wondering whether
the upgrade would be worth it. The version I have seems to work quite well.

Hi All,

Amateur Contact Log 4.7 is Now Available!

Enhancements in Amateur Contact Log 4.7 Include:

- Text to speech for Watch List and DX Spots (details below).

- CW Buffer Form (Ctrl K) (details below).

- Additional error checking to let you know if you have the clients set to
TCP but forgot to also set the server to TCP.

- Pressing enter when a QSO in the Recent Contacts list has focus will bring
up the edit screen for that QSO (in response to requests from blind hams).

- Ability to upload your current log status and recent contacts to your
hosting space (details below).

As always, upgrades are free to registered users. Of course, this includes
our N3FJP Software Package users!

You can download Amateur Contact Log 4.7 here:

http://www.n3fjp.com/aclog.html

By the way, if you are happy with AC Log 4.6 and don't see a need for these
new features right now, staying with 4.6 is fine.

Text to Speech for Watch List and DX Spots

I've started late, but recently I've been trying to work as many W1AW/X
stations on as many bands and modes as possible. As I've been programming
other rewrites, I've had DX spotting running on AC Log with W1AW/0 to /9 in
my Watch List. The W1AW stations are spotted often and I found myself in
constant distraction, switching from my coding software to AC Log every time
I heard the Watch List ding, checking to see if W1AW was spotted on a band
or mode that I still needed.

To remedy that, now you can optionally configure AC Log to audibly read the
Call, Band and Mode of the Watch List spot to you by clicking File > Watch
List. No more need to switch applications! Similarly, you can configure
text to speech for DX spotting by clicking Settings > DX Spotting >
Configure. With DX spots, AC Log will read you the country name, band and
mode of the needed spot.

CW Buffer Form

This was requested by users who wanted the ability to type keyboard CW on
the fly, but not actually have it immediately send. For example, you can
start typing responses while the other station is turning it back to you.
To use this feature, press Ctrl K, type the text you want to send and press
enter.

Web Status Uploader,

As I detailed in my Field Day announcement last week
(http://www.n3fjp.com/news/news2014-07-24.html), I added this FTP status
upload feature with Field Day in mind, but when users heard that I was
working on this feature for Field Day, I started getting requests to add it
to all the programs, including AC Log! Using this status upload feature,
clubs can see what their club station running AC Log is doing from home,
club members can track their club's progress of all supported contests,
DXPeditions can post where they are operating, recent contacts, etc., and
you can upload your activity as well!

You can see an example of my Amateur Contact Log status here:

Click Settings > Web Status Upload Settings to configure your settings.
