Well, the old Heath kit AT1 must have had a design problem as I also got a 
pink slip from Grand Island with an out-of-band signal!
That was as a novice also in 1954.
When I got my general, I used the AT1 as an exciter for a pair of 1625s and 
modulated by another pair.
Those were the days!!!
