Very interesting, Jim.

I will check the TS480 out this week-end, when out at the RV, but I suspect
the option may function the same way in that rig as well.

I don't know about the TS-480, but the TS-590 will definitely change from/to
CW to/from another mode if you program it to do that.  In fact, by default,
it will change to either LSB or USB if auto mode, menu 23, is enabled.

I can, however, get it to go to A M below 160 meters, LSB for 160, A M up to
3500, CW from 3500 to 3600, LSB from 3600 to 4000, etc.
