These earphones from the library are only a couple years old. I can’t remember what the old ones were like as I had a pair, 30 years ago.
These don’t bother me but maybe it is because I have a hard head...

I have a set from the library from about 20 years back. They are
indeed heavy duty and work on either mono or stereo, but they are
very heavy by today's standards and wear the ears out in fairly short
order. NLS may have lighter weight and more comfortable headsets out now.
