You can enable voice over without sighted assistance through iTunes a problem I had with android was organizing folders, setting the software volume controls, and certain apps that I use on a daily basis didn't work.  I did not know about the apple battery but by the time I'm due for an upgrade maybe there will be significant improvements to both android and windows phone accessibility.
