Tom, I agree with these comments.  Generally, unless there is a major issue
with the antenna or transmission line, the knobs should end up pretty close
to the initial factory settings listed in the tuning table.  And with
respect to the length of time that you key the amp to make adjustments, you
shouldn't stay keyed down for any more than 10 seconds, and you should wait
at least five seconds to let components cool down a bit before proceding.

For the most part, the positioning of the load and plate controls are pretty
close, at least on the bands where I have used the amplifier.

At most, they may be one position off, but usually, they are closer than
that.

I let my TW1 be my guide, and keep my tuning sessions to 5 or maybe 10
seconds at the very most.
