In that price range, you might be able to find a 480 with tuner, one 
very good radio with lots of voice output.  Next choice might be a 450, 
or a 690 which is same radio including six meters assuming you can still 
get the voice voard.  The 440s are a good rig, again assuming you could 
get the voice board, but they're 30 years old, so getting a little old 
for me.  I'd really look for a 480.
