Hi Mike and all
The icome 706 are also not very blindfriendly.
Again like the 7000 they only speeck frequency s meter and mode.
They do not speek the menus
If your looking for a rig that does 160 through 70cm then the ts2000 is 
the best.
The other rigs people have mentiond are fine to but they don't go all 
the way to 70cm
So the ts480 or the ts590 are certainly good but they just don't go to 
70cm or two meters.
