There are many, but they don't really work well unless you hook them up to
an outdoor antenna. The digital TV signals are very weak, and they just
don't penetrate well into buildings. I have tried several portable units and
the whip antennas that come with them are completely useless. Radio Shack
sells some, and they have a good return policy, so you might want to get one
and try it out. Also, the initial setup will require sighted assistance.

Subject: portable radio with broadcast television reception
Hello List:
I had(still do), a portable am/fm radio from the CCrane Company, which =
also was capable of receiving the major television network broadcasts. =
This capability was =E2=80=9Clost=E2=80=9D when tv went =
=E2=80=9Cdigital=E2=80=9D.
I used to enjoy this feature, and was wondering if anyone knows of a =
similar product which is also capable of receiving the new tv network =
broadcasts?
If so, could you please give me its particulars such as make/model, =
retailer, and approximate cost?
Thank you,
David S. Pearson-wa4dsp
I'm not wearing a diaper, so don't try to change me.
