I've used the keyboard but love my keyer and prefer it.  Guess its because
do mostly traffic work.  Must admit that keyboards are fun in qsos but mine
is no good any more so just using the keyer.  Just my little old fist.

When I first started in January of 1980 with my first keyboard, I hooked up 
my CW electronic keyer together with the keyboard and went back and forth 
because it seemed so weird at first.  After about six months, I never went 
back to the keyer and sold it.  I've used nothing but keyboards since 1980 
and I doubt I could even use a paddle any more, haha, so don't feel bad. 
That's why CW is fun; it's whatever you like to use.  Shoot, as a novice, I 
once hand shorted the two wires together and send CQ bear handed, as it 
were, and got bit a couple of times, too.
