I'd look for an exterminator who specializes in getting rid of wasps and hornets.  We have that problem every year on our back deck, and it's worth the $150 or so to have him come out and get rid of them because he gets chemicals that we can't, and he knows how to do the job without getting stung (which I don't).  Call me a chicken, but I'd rather pay the money and know that it's being done right.
