I would be cautious about using MFJ brand so called power poles. And it's
not because I have any particular bias against MFJ stuff.
However, because they are a knock off, they don't always fit together as
well as the original kind.
If the two metal strips inside the connecters aren't very snug together,
they will heat up like crazy and I've personally felt a set that melted
because of this problem...also, the springiness of the metal tabs doesn't
last very long with the MFJ variety of the power poles...the metal used is
cheaper and less durable than with the original anderson power poles.
Where you can make a direct connection to a binding post, do it rather than
inserting an additional choke point into your power wires.
Otherwise, spend the extra few bucks and get high quality Anderson power
poles and not knock off versions that aren't well made and can cause serious
issues.
I use anderson power poles on most of my 13.8v stuff, but they are high
quality and only used because any time I need to set mobile radios up in a
vehicle or heaven forbid, an ARES type event or call out, they have to have
power poles for interconnectivity.
I'd be a little hesitant to use knock off versions of the rig runner power
distribution system as well for the same reasons. yeah, they're way
cheaper, but there is a reason they are way cheaper.
just my two cents as always hi.
