Ron, at one time I had one of those.  Wow, that original VersaBraille brings 
back memories.  There was a cheat-sheet of commands in Braille attached to 
the inside of the cover as I recall.

If you listen to those tapes, it sounds similar to the old modem data noises 
with a special burst between pages.

I had one when I started working at Kaiser Aluminum in 1980.  I was 
designated notetaker in a meeting one day, and my boss came by where I was 
sitting and pressed the Eject button on the left corner of the  unit.  That 
is not the way to exit and save a file, all it does is rewind the cassette 
to the beginning without writing the file information to the table of 
contents.  So, we lost all the notes to the meeting and he never messed with 
my techy devices again.
