The IC-706MKIIG is not too inaccessible if you take the time to get to know 
the radio, I use mine just fine. I wouldn't want it as my every day user 
radio but that's more it's size and some of the buttons I think should be 
easier to access, or some functions but I can do about anything with it. I'm 
sure the IC-7000 is probably at least as good if not better. I prefer the 
TS-2000 as my daily user but would never say the 706MKIIG is not accessible, 
or the 706 MKII, I never used the first 706 version. The menus don't rap 
around, the list of menu items beeps longer at the lowest menu option and 
it's more a set it and forget it menu anyway.
