Yes, that's what MSE is for. If you look hard enough, you can find people 
who don't like any antivirus software for different reasons. Me, I've run 
most of them over the years from Mcafee, Norton, avast, avg as short lived 
as that mistake was, and a few others and MSE is one of very few I haven't 
got a virus with even if I tried on a test machine, hasn't given me any 
false hits, and doesn't slow down the machine like norton and some others 
do.
