I hate that there are power limits, but at the same time i also think hat a lot of people use way too much. It is sad that on the lower bands when you have a perfectly adequate signal, they say they can’t hear you but gov eyou a 59 and respond to everything yous ay proving they can eha ryou just fine, but don’t want to talk to you because you are not 40 over with no noise while they run attenuators and have their rf gain rolled back to 10 O’clock… and this happens a lot on 80 meters. i also hate that good amplifiers are so expensive. I do think hat if they are going to have rules that they need to be enforced however, and these guys running 15kw need to be shut down. Why would any legitimate ham ever need to own an amplifier capable of running 10 times the legal limit?
home brewers are fine, cause they obviously ar building for the pleasure, but someone who just goes out and drops 24 grand on a monster amp like ethat for amateur radio is beyond ridiculous in my opinion. you can’t tell me that they spent tha touch money and neve rintend to operate over the legal limit.
