Tom,

I too am having this problem.

It is speaking part of the Country field.

To fix that, press Jaws key plus S until Jaws says "None."
Then, the program will work without driving you nuts.

You will need to remember to toggle that back to
"Highlighted" when you are in a different application.

Subject: Major Snag with Jaws And The N3FJP ARRL
International DX Contest Logging Software

Hi, all.

I wasn't really planning on putting in a extremely serious
effort at the
ARRL International DX CW Contest this week-end, due to a
number of other
things going on here. However, I have tried to be in there
a vit, and have
run into an annoying problem with the N3FJP logging software
for the
contest.

Every time, right after I log a new contact, Jaws starts
speaking random
letters for a few seconds, and then, repeatedly speaks the
letter Y in
pairs, that are spoken about every 3 seconds.

It's almost like something is popping up on the screen that
is making Jaws
speak these extra characters. Yet, I had my sighted XYL
check, and she
sees nothing extra on the screen.

I have tried the insert 2 options in order to lessen the
amount that Jaws
speaks, but this has made no difference at all.

I am running Jaws at the intermediate verbosity level, and
have done so with
other logging programs without having this problem.

Does anyone know what I might do to lessen this rather
annoying issue?

I'm using Jaws 14 and Windows XP on this particular
computer.

I have also posted this quiry, in slightly revised form, to
the Jaws e-mail
list.
