Tom
Go to the Active Elements Website and listen to Kelvin's audio files on
ACLOG. He is using Windows Eyes but I found JAWS works as well. Good luck
with ACLOG.

Thanks for the info and clarification,John.
As I think I mentioned before, both my XYL and I applied for LOTW
certification, so once we get our official certificate post-cards in the
mail, then we'll be able to play around with it more.
In the meantime, I'm going to download and install the latest version of A C
log. I think it's version 4.5.
Will keep you posted, and will continue to ask questions if I run into
things that I can't figure out.

Tom
I only use LOTW for contacts from my home QTH. As far as I can tell you can
setup another location under the same certificate. I use ACLOG and it
interfaces with LOTW without any problems. It sure cuts down the cost of
postage as long as the other Ham is on LOTW.

Thanks for the clarification, Lloyd.
I'm gradually getting a better picture of what L O T W is all about here,
and think it might be very useful once I get things up and running here.

If you wish, you can associate multiple logs with one certificate. They
just want a way to make sure that the log is authentic and from an authentic
ham.

Subject: LOTW Questions
Hi, everyone.
I am finally getting around to setting up A C Log, and LOTW on my ham shack
logging computer. It will be a while yet until LOTW is fully operational,
because my XYL and I just applied to the ARRL for our authentication
certificates and have to wait for our confirmation postcards to arrive in
the mail.
However, I have a few questions about LOTW. I guess it's just the professor
in me, but I'm trying to get a handle on exactly what LOTW is, and what its
uses are, before I get too deeply into things.
1. Am I correct in saying that LOTW is a log data base that is kept for you
at ARRL HQ, for confirming QSO's etc.? In other words, you keep your own
log with AC log, and then periodically upload your updated AC log file to
the League if someone wants a QSO confirmation?
And
2. It is clear to me from the certificate authentication process that your
LOTW log is associated with the address that is in the FCC data base for
your particular license. That's ok for me now, since until camping season,
I'll be operating from my home QTH. But what happens when I'm operating
from the RV camp site in the summer months? Is there a way I can
temporarily change my operating location to fit that situation?
