Hi Tom,

Yes, make sure you have version 4.2 or later. The latest is 4.5. With AC
Log, you don't lose log data when you start a new log.

Your default log is probably called 'log data.mdb', and you can check by
pulling down the File menu and clicking on Save As.

When creating a new log, click on File and then New. You are given a couple
of options, but choose the one for a new file name. Give it a name like
W1AW, and the W1AW log is created. You will have 0 entries.

To go back to the old log, pull down the File menu, select Open, and choose
'Log Data' again. You can switch between the logs.

Another little tip. Pull down the File menu and select 'Show File
Locations'. The resulting dialog will show you where all the AC Log files
are stored.

I have a question for you <smile>. I worked W1AW in WV this afternoon on 10
CW. He was not signing W1AW/8, but as 'W1AW WV'. Is this the way all
stations will sign, with the state? I rather like this method.

Best wishes, Kelvin Marsh - M0AID

Makes sense, Kelvin, but I have a question:

How do you switch from one data base to the next in AC log?

I always thought that whenever you created a new log data base, you had to
eliminate your original data base. At least I believe that is true for the
N3FJP contest loggers I have used, which is why I always save any contest
logs in both Cabrillo and adif format before starting another contest.

I am forgetting which version of A C log I have on my ham logging computer,
so will probably go onto the N3FJP web site to get the latest.

Hi Tom,

If using AC Log, I would imagine you would just setup a new and separate log
database for your participation. Just load in your own log again when you
revert to your own callsign.

To upload to LOTW, I guess you could do it yourself, if you had all relevant
passwords and certificates, but it is more common to have a single
co-ordinator to upload all the logs. You would just send them the ADIF
file.

Subject: ARRL Centennial QSO Party

Hi, all.

Yesterday, I received an e-mail from our Michigan ARRL section manager,
asking for volunteers to represent Michigan in the Michigan Centennial QSO
Party during the two weeks that are allotted for our section. I think one
is in February, and the other is in October. All of the available
information about the event can be found at the following link:

http://www.arrl.org/centennial-qso-party

I'd like to volunteer for representing Michigan in the event, but am
concerned about logging. Scott Davis (N3FJP) says that you could enter your
contacts for the event into A C log, and then upload them into L O T W. I
am not sure how accessible this approach would be with Jaws and windows 7,
and I'm hesitant to volunteer until I can feel comfortable with a good
logging strategy that will work for both me and the League.

My other question is this: How could I keep separate logs for my year-long
participation in the event, and for any time slots I would be assigned as a
representative of the Michigan section during our two specific weeks of
operation?

Perhaps I'm making this harder than it really needs to be, but I'm just
trying to resolve the logistics of my participation and logging both for the
event generally, and for the Michigan section representation in particular.
