Spicy Pecans
1/2 cup sugar
3 Tbsp water
pinch. salt
1/2 tsp. cayenne (I use a little more)
2 cups pecans
Preheat oven to 350. Combine first 4 ingredients and stir until sugar dissolves. Boil 2 minutes, remove from fire and addpecans; stir until well coated. Usingslotted spoon, put pecans on oiled baking sheet.
Bake about 12 minutes and transfer to waxed paper – breakapart when cooled.
If you don't like them spicy, omit the cayenne - they also good chopped up in a salad.
