Is anyone on this list using one of the new Toshiba Encore tablets?

I just purchased one.
It arrived dead on arrival, unable to charge its battery.
So it is being sent back for repair.

But I am wondering if anyone has any tips for me.
I am completely new to the new version of Windows.
Up to now, I have been using version 7 on a desktop pc.
Completely new to touch screens, also.

I ordered a Bluetooth keyboard to use, and was going to install JAWS 15 on
it.
But should I need to?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or information.
