Yes, I'd say that's true. Some things are done a bit differently, and 
you don't get Eloquence with NVDA, but depending on what you're doing 
and what applications you're using, NVDA can often be used instead of 
JAWS with no problems and will work better than JAWS in some situations 
as well.
