A bit of information for those of you who did not actually read the article.
The FDA is planning to take "trans fats" (like hydrogenated seed
oils) off of the GRAS (Generally Regarded As Safe) list because the
science seems to indicate that they are not safe and are damaging to
human health. One of the results of such a ruling would be that
manufacturers of processed foods would no longer be allowed to claim
that there are no trans fats in a food product whenever the level was
below 0.5 grams per serving.
The next thing that I would to see pulled from the GRAS list is sugar.
