My trumpet player in my Great Pacific Jazz Band when I lived in Los Angeles was Reubin (Zeke) Zarchy. He played lead trumpet with Goodman, Artie Shaw, Bob Crosby, and many other bands before WW II. Then played lead trumpet in the Glenn Miller Army Air Force Band during WW II. Then moved to Los Angeles and became a studio musician.
