From what the guys say, the range is around 300 to 400 feet, way
more than BlueTooth.  Jim WA6EKS

wow I want one myself if it has good range :) which is the
biggest =
problem. mod tbluetooth devices are such limited range I prefer
an =
extension cord since i can=92t leave the room anyway. if this
one is =
bidirectional and has good audio Mi might consider it of rmy
shack :)

 Evidently the Jabra system has a mute button so that wouldn't
be=20
 a problem using VOX. The audio I've heard from them sounds=20
 really crisp. I think they use spread spectrum like cordless=20
 phones and cost around $130 or so. 73, Jim WA6EKS

 You can always use a foot switch. I would recommend this in
any=20
 case =3D
 over VOX because it is too easy to inadvertently trip the VOX.
=20
 The =3D
 wireless stuff all uses 2.4 ghz these days if it is intended
for=20
 use =3D
 with a cell phone, or some of the older stuff uses 900 which
is=20
 not =3D
 cellular, and in fact is in our ham bad there.

 Just wondering if anyone on the list has experience with the
=3D20
 Jabra 9350e headset mic? It is a cordless system that works=20
 in=3D20
 the same portion of the spectrum as cell phones I guess. =20
 Some=3D20
 local hams are using them and the audio is great. You do
have=20
 to=3D20
 use it in VOX mode so that would rule out using it with a=3D20
 TMP-71A, but it would great with most HF rigs including the=20
 TS480=3D20
 mentioned below. So I'm interested in hearing reports about=20
 this=3D20
 headset Mic.  73, Jim WA6EKS

 Their is an optional rj12 cable that goes from the control=20
 head=3D20
 of the 480
 to the body of the radio. With mike and paddle extention=20
 cables,=3D20
 operation
 from the coffee table, easy chair, or couch is equally=20
 pheasible.  =3D20
 If you do
 a lot of listening, this can be especially fun.
 An external speaker is also a nice addition to the station.
 The internal tuner will tune an antenna with a 6/1 SWR. =20
 Almost=3D20
 everything
 talks, except for the internal power and SWR meter.
