I have a TS-480SAT with VGS-1 voice unit and 500Hz CW filter
installed. Well, I sort of have the VGS-1 voice unit.

I recently upgraded to a TS-590 from the TS-480 and still have the
480 on hand. I bought the TS-590 just before Christmas when Kenwood
had a free VGS-1 voice unit included for free. Unfortunately the
voice unit is sent from Japan and is slow in coming. I have received
paperwork from Japan saying it will be shipped, but I'm still waiting
after three months. I moved the VGS-1 from the TS-480 to the TS-590
in the interim. I have no doubt the VGS-1 will come, but I have no
idea how long the wheels take to turn in the inscrutible east. I'm
expecting the VGS-1 any day though.

If you are willing to wait, I will ship the TS-480 for $800. In some
ways I like the TS-480 better. I like the separate control unit as
it takes up very little space on my desk. I also prefer the
arrangement of controls on the TS-480 as they seem easier to use.

Dave, W7OQ
