Subject: Off Topic: Extreme E-mail Program Frustrations
Hi, all.
As many of you know, I am in the process of upgrading the main home computer
to Windows 7 from Windows xp.
My original plan to update my e-mail management program was to move to
Outlook 2010 from Outlook Express. This was based on the idea that I had
very successfully accessed my personal g-mail account via Outlook Express on
my Windows XP computer, and that shifting to Outlook 2010. should be a
pretty simple matter.
Well, I'm beginning to seriously believe that I was very wrong.
I am having all kinds of pproblems with the version of Outlook 2010 I'm
working with, including Outlook itself constantly freezing. The software
was purchased as part of an Office 2010 software package through my
University as a University employee, but I am becoming convinced that
something might be defective in the software.
I checked with our University's tech center, but they say the copy I have is
the only one they have.
This is leading me to two questions:
1. Does anyone know where I might be able to get a trial version of Outlook
2010 to see if I can get it to work any better?
or
2. Perhaps better yet, what other e-mail management programs have any of
you found that work well with g-mail, and windows 7?
For the record here, I'm using Jaws 14.
