Hello List Mates,
I just saw a press release titled: "Genetically Modified Wheat Variety used to make Celiac friendly bread: Study". Reading through the article I believe the title may be misleading - but still it seems scientists are going down this road determined to create a gluten-removed wheat. The article is trademarked, so I can't reprint it here. But if you'd like a link for it, please email me ([log in to unmask]) and I'll forward what I have.
My question is "Why?" Why would any of us want to add a genetically modified - anything - into our diets? Celiac disease already provides me with a compromised immune system, why would I want to take a chance to compromise it further?
OK, as the Founder of Gluten-Free Prairie - a Purity Protocol Gluten-Free oat-based company located in Montana- I might be a bit biased - but I've love to know what you think?
Thanks,
Deb Wheaton
