Well, if you press the memory A or b knob it will tell you the
frequency in that memory. Pressing the middle button on the
bottom row which is reverse for repeaters, then pressing the
memory knob again may give you the same frequency announcement if
you are on a simplex channel, say 146.520, but if your memory is
on a repeater, and you press the memory knob, the rig will
announce the repeater output. Pressing reverse then the memory
knob again will announce the repeater input, then press the
reverse button to get back to the input. Jim WA6EKS

Huh? I check the frequency by pressing the button for the
channel I'm on,
(e.g.) if I want to check the VFO frequency, I press either the
left or
right audio gain control. If I hit function, then reverse, and
then check
the frequency, nothing happens. Is there something basic I don't
understand? Apparently there is.

What I do is hit the reverse button and check frequency which
will tell
where your transmit is set.
