I own a TS2000 and there is nothing that i ca n not do with that radio on hf.
That begin said, from what I hear there is functionality the newer radio that leaves the 2k in the dust. I for example an not determine output power alc or swr independently. I have found however that it is very hard to mess up any of he settings. it is very very forgiving even if you turn the gain all the way up. Obviously you want to do your best to set the mic gain and such appropriately. I also have to say that the 2k is primarily an HF radio and 2m and 440 are nice but are not as well implemented as the ken wood tgm71a. This of course applies only to fm and am receive only mode. he ts2k is all mode capable on vhf and uhf and offers 100w power output.I am able to run My experience is the sensitivity is not as good as my mbile, but if you are serious enough run all modes on a tsp and use a mas mount preamplifier.
