Hi Everyone,
Well, I have a talking clock, which I will attempt to describe, and I have
two questions about it. First of all, can you change it from 24 hour to a
12 hour clock and, secondly, does it have hourly announce on it. I've had
it several years and, of course, I've lost the directions for it.
Ok here's what it's like. It is a rectanbular shape with the speaker on the
back and three slide switches to the left of the speaker when holding it
with the display facing you. The display takes up most of the front of the
unit. On the top in the center are six buttons in a circular arrangement.
One in the center which announces the time, temperature and humidity, and
five buttons around that center button. I don't know the brand.
If any of you have this clock, perhaps you can give me some additional
information. I like the clock because of the temp and humidity
announcement. While on this subject has anyone ever seen a talking
barometer? I like to have one if they make one.
Sorry for the off topic, but I thought this group might know about this
clock.
Thanks much.
Kris

Fred,
Couldn't kick up your e-mail address. If you think I can help, let me know
your address.
While not currently in use, I have a Palstar AT1500CV which has a roller
inductor and 2 tuning caps. I know there are various models, some
with only 1 cap, some for balanced line only, so not sure what you have
there.
While you can get close by ear (tuning for max RX noise), you will
need some sort of device to tune it. I think you may have one of
the old RF concepts units and I don't know if that has any sort of
tone function like the TW-1. There have been threads here recently
about some of the guys using RX noise bridges to tune to low SWR.
That's not much, but that's all I know.
