Very very sadly my repeater has it on it too but I'm doing it right, RF
connects only. I made promises to the group I put the repeater up for that
I'd have it on IRLP and then ran in to problems affording the IRLP board so
grabbed a junk computer I used to use for radio activities and set it up
this way for now though I have a few bugs to work out. It works I just think
there's a sound card loop back issue but it does work. Once I get IRLP on it
it will be used to mostly link the repeater in to the local 900 MHz network.
Right now the most activity is the New England network for sky warn events
and what not. While it's running like this I will never allow computer users
to connect because that is my problem with that whole program but if someone
who cares enough about radio to actually get on the air wants to try to
connect feel free. I can't guaranty I'll be around but maybe someone will.
there are still some bugs, maybe have to turn the beam a little, the sound
card loop back issue and yes the play back line in port is muted to the
speaker output. I think it's a 13 year old mother board's onboard sound card
with a ton of processor noise. If I ever get ambitious I'll get an external
sound card on it and that should fix it I think. I just don't have the time
or a ton of interest so it's not on the front burner, I'd say if it's not
done by the time it warms up outside it won't get done until next winter and
if I don't have the IRLP board by then I'll probably scrap the whole project
and let the repeater run on it's own. I promised them I'd have the IRLP on
it a year ago but can't afford the board so had to do something I guess to
stop the questions.
