Hi Lloyd and all:
I too run a Yaesu, my dream transceiver I've always wanted and now proudly own, the FT-102 and the only accessible feature comes from the TW-1. LOL
I could get direct freq access and split, if I could locate and afford the optional remote VFO, which very rarely come available.
I also ran the FT-450 which had limited voice announcement and would run the FT-2000 if came across one at a decent price and had some cash built up in the cookie jar. LOL
I've always been a Yaesu fan and was never deterred but it would be nice to buy a 3RD party device that would allow me to access the features of a high end rig that the sighted folks have.
I think it could be done easy enough, if the demand and the company was willing to do it. All the CAT programming guides are available and if even some payment had to be given for other source codes, then it should be done.
I'm thinking in terms of HRD, how did they get to control all the transceivers it controls, couldn't it be done on a hardware accessory?
