well, I used the web page. I have drop box installed here on my mac and also on the windows laptop. Here its just bloody hard to get it to share a link using the app (on OS X). Not so much so using windows. Both machines have pretty much the same problem with the dropbox website. SOme of the links are undescribed and the folders cannot be made public from there (you have to do so from your machine, which isn't so easy on OS X).
also, you don't need to run an exe to download from sendspace (although they try hard to get you to do so).
